“The Scandinavian”<\/h3>\n

The Scandinavian is a 25-minute drive outside of Copenhagen. This is a fantastic golf facility with two courses in the top 50 on the European continent. The Scandinavian has also been named one of the world’s 100 best golf courses.<\/p>\n

The architect behind the facility wanted to use one natural stone material for the entire project. This necessarily led to a material that was suitable for both outdoor and indoor use.<\/p>\n

Outdoors, the slate was to set the tone through use on both facades, roofs, terraces, paving, stairs and on various elements in the golf courses.<\/p>\n

The tone was to be continued indoors on fireplaces, walls and floors in bathrooms, restaurants, salons and changing rooms. The aim was to create recognition throughout the project and create a minimalist whole despite the rustic design.<\/p>\n

The rustic surface from the brick has been continued into the lounge and restaurant area, both to be consistent, but also for acoustic reasons. The choice of materials is dominated by Ottaskifer in a contrasting combination with Douglas fir and Oregon pine.<\/p>\n

The plinth’s horizontal surfaces are clad in natural plain exterior and brushed surface interior. Vertical surfaces in the facade, columns and chimneys are clad with clipped break edges as a visible surface. The roofs are covered with cut square stone with a natural plan.<\/p>\n

Slate and spruce are materials with a long history in the Scandinavian building tradition. In this way, the building has historical references, while at the same time, with its expressive and expressive roof construction, artisanal precision, and rustic materials, it represents modern times.<\/p>\n
