Dombå’s Church

The slate roof at Dombås church

Dombås church, a bastion of history and culture, stands proudly with its tower and roof clad in Ottaskifer. The church is a cruciform church, built in 1939, with an octagonal roof over the crossing. The church is built in a triple wall of local slate, according to drawings by Magnus and Esben Poulsson. It is a typical Magnus Poulsson church with a hipped roof that contributes to the overall pyramidal effect.

In 2020, the church suffered extensive damage after a fire. The restoration work started in 2021.
