Ottaskifer for “Water Art” in Bjørvika

From 2024 to 2026, stage two of the “Water Art” housing project in Bjørvika will be completed. The first buildings were ready in 2021, and the project consists of distinctive homes on the water’s edge.

With the fjord as a backdrop and a beautiful harbor promenade just outside the door, Vannkunsten Syd offers an experience you won’t find anywhere else. The five houses are surrounded by the Oslofjord, the Bispekilen and the shopping street Rostockgata in Bjørvika. Large parts of the building will be built out into the sea, and the fjord will be led in between the houses. Water mirrors, bridges and narrow canals will give a maritime and intimate atmosphere.

Here you get completed homes executed with high quality. At street level there will be restaurants, shops and cultural offerings.

The facade will be covered with Ottaskifer, which reflects the light in a beautiful way. With a facade covered by the Ottaskiferen, the facade of Vannkunsten will sparkle in the sun and be partially covered by snow in winter. Newly laid slate has a charcoal gray color with approx. 20 % traces of rust, but after 10 years the slate has acquired its final colour.
